B2B is hard 😓

B2B is hard 😓

Friend of my spent the last 5 years working at a B2C product (as a developer) and I had very insightful conversation with him that pushed me to build my own product (Pages. Report). Chose B2B SaaS thinking my friend experience would translate.

I was wrong.

B2C Reality

My friend experience:

  • Film a quick video → Post on TikTok/Instagram → Get users immediately
  • First paying customers within even 48 h
  • Revenue within the first week
  • Instant dopamine hits from quick wins

B2B Reality Check

Building a B2B tool has been a complete 180:

  • That TikTok video? Yeah, procurement departments don't care
  • Sales cycles measured in weeks/months, not hours
  • Mountains of paperwork, security reviews, and "let me check with my team"
  • Implementation takes actual planning and resources

The Internal Battle

Even though I know intellectually that B2B is different, my founder instincts are screaming:

  • "Why aren't we making 10k $?"
  • "Something must be wrong"
  • "This pit in my stomach won't go away"

It's like my brain understands the B2B playbook, but my gut is still operating on B2C friend experience.

Why I'm Sticking With It

Here's what I keep telling myself when the anxiety hits:

  • I have 2 paid customers after 3 weeks since launch
  • Customer stickiness is measured in years, not months
  • LTV makes B2C look like pocket change
  • One good B2B client can equal hundreds of B2C customers

My Question to You

For those who've made the B2C → B2B transition:

  1. How long did it take to land your first real B2B customer?
  2. How did you manage the psychological shift from instant gratification to long-term plays?
  3. What early signals told you that you were on the right track (before revenue)?

Would love to hear your stories and advice.
